About this policy

This policy describes how Dumb It Down at simplifytext.net processes information when you simplify text, create an account, purchase a plan, or contact support. For privacy questions, contact support@simplifytext.net.

Information we process

• Submitted text and results. We process the text you enter, your selected output language, and the generated result. Paid requests are recorded with your account, source text, output or error status, model, timestamps, and credit usage. The anonymous trial flow does not save source text or results as an account task, but your text is still sent to the AI provider for processing.
• Account information. This includes your name, email address, password hash, session information, and account settings. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable passwords.
• Trial and security information. To enforce the single free try, we use a signed browser cookie and keyed hashes derived from browser identifiers, your network IP address, and your account identifier when available. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. People sharing a network may share a trial limit. Our hosting infrastructure may also process IP addresses, request metadata, and operational logs.
• Billing information. When purchases are available, payment providers process payment details. We retain related order, subscription, transaction reference, payment status, and credit records. We do not store full payment card numbers in the application database.
• Support correspondence. We receive information you choose to include when emailing us. Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, or API keys.

How we use information

We use this information to generate simplified text, authenticate accounts, manage subscriptions and credits, enforce trial limits, investigate errors and abuse, answer support requests, and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Do not submit confidential information or another person's personal data unless you have permission and an appropriate basis to do so.

Service providers and sharing

Text generation requests are sent through PolarisCore to the model services it uses. Your source text and requested output language are necessary to generate a result. Those providers may process or retain requests under their own terms and policies; we do not promise that their processing has zero retention or excludes all training uses.

Cloudflare provides hosting and database infrastructure. Payment processors, including Stripe when enabled, handle checkout and subscription payments. These providers receive information needed to perform their services. Data may be processed outside your country.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to investigate abuse and protect the service and its users.

Cookies and preferences

We use cookies for authentication, language preferences, trial enforcement, and, when present, referral attribution. Theme preferences may be stored in your browser. The trial cookie can persist for up to one year. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect login and preferences and does not necessarily reset the network-based trial limit.

Retention and security

Account, task, billing, and trial records remain stored while needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. The application does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion period to saved text tasks. Contact us to request deletion; some financial or security records may need to be retained, and provider-held data follows the relevant provider's retention practices.

We use HTTPS, account access controls, password hashing, and encryption for configured provider credentials. These measures do not make every database field encrypted or eliminate all security risks.

Your choices and requests

You can update available profile settings and manage subscriptions from your account. To request access, correction, a copy of your data, account closure, or deletion, email support@simplifytext.net. Where applicable law provides additional privacy rights, you may request to exercise those rights through the same address. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete account data; deleting browser cookies does not delete server records.
